Neon Pothos
Hi, my name is Epipremnum Aureum 'Neon' Pothos!
I am a bright, light, energizing green, heart shaped leaf that will grow pretty much anywhere! I typically grow in a vine manner, but I can change my look depending on your trimming choices! I have a few names;"neon" Pothos, Scindapsus Aureus, Pothos, and Devil's Ivy.
*How to care for me:
This variety of Pothos is fairly easy to care for; it will thrive in bright light, but will still grow in dimmer areas. It is tolerant of fluorescent light, making it a hardy plant to have around in rooms with less available natural light. This downward growing vine plant does best in a large container as it prefers to grow lengthy and vine-y versus upright. BUT! This plant is so talented, that if you trim your Neon Pothos correctly, it can grow beautifully to fill a container with a bushy-er look. The Neon Pothos does require regular watering, though it will continue to live in slight drought conditions. Water your' Pothos when the top 1 inch of soil is dry. Water requirements will ALWAYS differ depending on your local heat, sun, and humidity levels. The Neon Pothos will not enjoy an overwatered potted container, but it does enjoy being submerged in clean water making it a perfect addition to an aquarium or paludarium, it is also a beautiful addition to reptile enclosures.
*Where to plant me:
There are many areas your new Neon Pothos can call home. You will not need a deep container as the Pothos will grow lengthwise and then root itself to the top layer of soil. Submerging your Pothos in water conditions such as in an aquarium or paludarium, will add a beautiful foliage to any tank! Or, if you are looking for a natural scene for your reptile enclosures, vivariums, terrariums, etc, the neon Pothos is best planted in the background of your tanks as it will grow as a vine will, and eventually grow into a beautiful full natural background.
*Do animals like me?
Sort of...on one hand, the neon Pothos is a great plant to add to a reptile enclosure to add more hiding areas, nesting areas, and of course some extra natural beauty to their home! On the other hand though, you will want to keep your Pothos away from your dogs and cats, ingesting this vine may cause your fur-family some discomfort; vomiting, increased salivation, difficulty swallowing, and an irritated mouth and/or tongue are side effects to ingesting this plant
*How am I being cared for now?
Each parent plant at eeLovan is set up so that your young plants will be the happiest and healthiest they can be before heading off to their new homes! We have different variations of light sources, soil mixes, and fertilizers. Although the parent plants are grown in different setups, you can rest assured that your plants will thrive and grow no matter how you choose to keep them (*As long as general plant needs and guidelines are fulfilled, your plants will do well! If you leave them in a dark corner and forget to water them until their soil turns to dust...your plants will not thrive!)
*What comes with me?
