Hi, my name is Aloe barbadensis miller, or Aloe!

You may know me for my incredible healing qualities for your skin, sunburns, and even hair! There are many different variations of me, and some of us will even flower! I will grow very large if given the chance, so be sure to have a sunny place for me when I get large, possibly 4' tall and wide. I am a succulent varrient, so I store my water in my leaves, that you can cut off for medicinal purposes and I will still continue to grow!

*How to care for me:

Light: Your new Aloe will enjoy a sunny window with as much sunlight time as it can get durring the day. During warmer months, your Aloe can sit outside but be sure to acclimate your plant from indoor to outdoor for about a week, bring it outside after the morning chill, and back inside before the sun goes down.

Water: Your' Aloe is a succulent, so it does not like to sit in water and naturally will not be watered daily where it is native to. It will be happiest in a pot that can wick away any excess moisture, such as a Terracotta pot, or one with ample drainage. Watering your aloe depending on the type of environment you're keeping it in. We at eelavon like to keep our Aloe's soil on the dry/moist side, and then about once a month we like to give them a little drought period of a couple days with no water.

Humidity: Aloe will enjoy humidity from time to time, but remember it does not like an ample amount of water. Keep an eye on your Aloe leaves, if they are thick, firm, and heavy feeling, the plant is getting a healthy amount of water and its leaves are full and juicy! If the leaves are feeling thin, flat, and bendable, your plant most likely needs some more water.

*How to plant me:

Your' Aloe will be happiest in a pot that can wick away any excess moisture, such as a Terracotta pot, or one with ample drainage as it does not like to sit in water. Place a drainage material at the bottom of your pot to ensure the roots will not sit and soak in any water, then add a mix of some potting soil and sand to your pot. be sure to plant the Aloe deep enough that it is secured in the pot, as Aloe can and will become more top heavy the bigger it grows. You may need a structure support stick to help it secure its roots in place.

*Do animals like me?

Sort of. While I am a healthy natural remedy for skin conditions (ask your vet!) topically, I am poisonous to your pets if ingested. So please don't let your pets munch on me, or lick me off if used topically to treat skin!

*How am I being cared for now?

Each parent plant at eeLovan is set up so your young plants will be the happiest and healthiest they can be before heading off to their new homes! We have different variations of light sources, soil mixes, and fertilizers. Although the parent plants are grown in different setups, you can rest assured that your plants will thrive and grow no matter how you choose to keep them (*As long as general plant needs and guidelines are fulfilled, your plants will do well! If you leave them in a dark corner and forget to water them until their soil turns to dust...your plants will not thrive!)

*What comes with me? Your new Aloe will arrive happily packaged and ready to use its new home! Alongside it will be its personal Care Card!
